Complaints procedure
Because we want to provide our customers with the best possible service, it is important to us to hear from you if you have a complaint about a repair, a product or any other service we provided. This page follows Article 30 of our General Terms and Conditions, which is the text that governs the Agreement.
How to reach us
Complaints and warranty requests may be sent to us by email or delivered to our address (Article 30.1). You can also simply call us. Use whichever of these suits you best: you do not have to use email.
- By email: info@4fixing.com
- By telephone: +31 6 86475803
- By post or in person: 4Fixing, Witte de Withstraat 114H, 1057 ZG Amsterdam, the Netherlands
It is in your interest to put your complaint in writing, because that gives both of us a record of what was reported and when. If you prefer to call or to come by the shop, that is fine, and we will confirm the complaint in writing ourselves.
What to include
To let us investigate properly, please give us the following (Article 30.2):
- the Agreement, the device or the project the complaint concerns;
- a description of the issue;
- the relevant dates;
- the solution you are asking for;
- the supporting information reasonably available to you, such as the invoice number, the repair confirmation, or a photo or screenshot of the problem.
When to report
Please do so as soon as possible, also to limit any further damage and to support an effective investigation. A consumer complaint made within two months after discovering a defect is in any event timely under Dutch consumer rules (Article 30.3). If you report later, your complaint may still be timely depending on the circumstances: the legal standard is that you notify us within a reasonable period. Your rights therefore do not automatically expire after two months.
What happens next
We will acknowledge your complaint or respond to it substantively within 14 days. If we reasonably need more time, we will tell you the reason and the date on which you can expect our response, and we will do so within those same 14 days (Article 30.4).
We must be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate an attributable defect and, where appropriate, to remedy it. That does not restrict any mandatory remedy you have as a consumer (Article 30.5). If your complaint concerns a repair we carried out, our warranty page explains what the commercial warranty covers and what your statutory rights are.
If we cannot resolve it together
Dutch law governs the Agreement, and we will first try in good faith to resolve the dispute through this complaint procedure (Articles 31.1 and 31.2). If that does not succeed, the dispute will be submitted to the court having jurisdiction under Dutch law, and nothing removes a consumer's right to go to a court that has mandatory jurisdiction (Articles 31.3 and 31.4).
We do not name a consumer disputes committee here because 4Fixing is currently affiliated with none. We also do not refer you to the former European Online Dispute Resolution platform, because that platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 (Article 30.6).
