The Mac may be broken while its files remain intact
On many T2 and Apple silicon MacBooks, storage is soldered to the board and tied to the device's security architecture. Removing a drive and reading it elsewhere is not the usual route. If the fault is in a repairable power or board circuit, restoring that circuit may let the original Mac read its own storage again. Diagnosis determines whether that applies to your machine.
What does MacBook Data cost?
The MacBook Data repair price is exactly 50% of the value of a new genuine Apple logic board of the same type as the one in your MacBook.
The amount in euros depends on your logic-board type. Send us your MacBook serial number for an exact quote, including VAT, which you accept before shipping. If data extraction or other work is needed, we discuss that as a separate job.

Diagnosis is included in the repair price when the repair succeeds; it is not an additional charge in that case.
If the repair does not succeed
You choose what happens to the MacBook:
- Leave the MacBook with 4Fixing for spare parts; its logic board may be used as a donor board. No additional charge.
- Have the MacBook returned for €125 including VAT. This covers the assessment, time spent and return shipping where applicable.
A MacBook that does not start may still contain personal data. If you leave it for parts, we remove or erase its storage before reusing the board.
A repair path built around your data
Standard board repair works on the hardware, without extracting files. These are the boundaries of that process.
- No copying, exporting or storing your files on our workshop systems as part of standard board repair.
- The standard test stops at the login screen; it does not require your Apple ID or account password.
- If extraction or wider access is needed, we explain the separate scope and ask for your written approval first.
A failed board and its repair carry a risk of data loss. We explain what the assessment shows. If access is restored, make a backup promptly.

Is this the same as data recovery?
No, and the difference matters. Data recovery means extracting files from failed storage and delivering them on another medium. Standard board repair works on the electronics so your own MacBook may read its storage again, without file extraction as part of that process. If the storage chip itself is the problem, we say so after diagnosis and explain the separate routes that may remain.
My MacBook is completely dead. Are my files gone?
No power does not necessarily mean no data. The fault may be in the power circuit or elsewhere on the board while the storage remains intact. Diagnosis shows the actual condition of the storage and what is technically possible.
Do you need my password?
Not for the standard board-repair test. We test up to the login screen, and you log in yourself when you pick the Mac up. If further access is needed, we explain why, ask you first and let you decide.
Does this work on Apple silicon or T2 MacBooks?
